Explore one of our beautiful real weddings on today’s blog, when Love was celebrated in a stunning castle in Ireland.
Natalie and Michael decided on a destination wedding in Ireland and when they found Dromoland Castle on the West Coast of Ireland, they immediately fell in love with the idea of getting married at the castle.
Besides its stunning setting, Dromoland Castle allowed for easy access for the couple’s guests—many of whom flew into Shannon Airport from all over the USA. A bonus was the couple’s and their guests’ love for golf. In fact, Natalie and Michael met while playing golf.
After working extensively with their planner Michelle to ensure everything was just right for the big day, the couple were able to truly enjoy and savour their wedding ceremony and reception at Dromoland Castle.
The reception décor included high and low lush centrepieces in burgundy, ivory and marsala, as well as candlelight, which brought romance and warmth to the formal event.
Natalie wore a Paloma Blanca white lace and beige silk, backless gown with cathedral train and a cathedral length veil.
The bride decided on not having bridesmaids, but shared her special day with best friend and Maid of Honor Lisa, who wore a full length burgundy dress, complimenting the day’s colour palette.
The Irish weather was perfectly sunny for an outdoor ceremony in the estate’s Walled Garden. While Natalie was walked down the aisle by her brother, a harpist entertained the guests with romantic Irish music.
Standing on a small bridge, Celtic Druid Dara Molloy officiated the beautiful ceremony, including the traditional Irish handfasting.
After the vows, a cocktail hour took place on the patio of the Lower Gallery with music by a traditional Irish duo, followed by the reception in the Terrace Room, where the couple and their guests were entertained by a pianist during dinner.
Throughout the night, the newlyweds and their loved ones were surrounded by beautiful wedding décor, great food, and the fantastic music of a 6-piece band.
After dinner, the wedding party enjoyed a delicious four tier wedding cake of lemon, chocolate baileys and red velvet layers.
When the last dance ended, the newlyweds were beyond thrilled with their destination wedding experience and felt incredibly blessed to have had the wedding of their dreams.
